東京レインボーTMCが属するトーストマスターズ・インターナショナルは、毎年1回、国際スピーチコンテストを主催しています。今日の例会では、同コンテストに出場する東京レインボーTMCの代表メンバーを決めるためのクラブ・スピーチ・コンテストを開催しました。
Toastmasters International organises an international speech contest annually.
In Tokyo Rainbow TMC meeting today, we held a club speech contest to select
our representatives for that contest.
コンテストは、日本語と英語の2部門に分けて行われました。司会は、メンバーのスピーチスキルの向上を担当する副会長（教育担当）のLさんでした。
The Japanese and English speech contests took place separately. The MC was L,
our Vice President (Education) who is responsible for improving the members’
speech skills.
日本語コンテストには、4人のメンバーが出場しました。くじ引きに基づき、Fさん、Taさん、Teさん、Gさんの順にスピーチを行いました。英語コンテストには、5人のメンバーが出場しました。同様に、Aeさん、Teさん、Aiさん、Dさん、Rさんが出場しました。どのスピーチも、これまで生きていて辛かったこと、苦しんだこと、そしてそこから何を学んだのか、今こうして自分らしく生きる喜びを語っており、スピーチを聞いて涙を流したメンバーも数多くいました。
Four members competed for the Japanese contest. Based on ballot, F, Ta, Te and
G delivered speeches. For the English contest, five members took part, namely Ae,
Te, Ai, D and R. All the speeches featured life lessons from the speakers’ tough
and suffering experiences as well as the joy of living as who they are now. Hearing
such touching speeches, many audience members shed tears.
そして聴衆全員による審査が行われた結果、日本語部門では、第1位にGさんが、第2位にTaさんが、第3位にTeさんが、英語部門では、第1位にDさんが、第2位にAiさんが、第3位にRさんが、選出されました。3月1日に行われる次のレベルのエリア26コンテストには、日本語部門・英語部門とも2人ずつが出場できます。多くのメンバーが、すでに応援に行く気満々でした。楽しみですね。
As a result of voting by all the members, G won 1st place for the Japanese contest,
followed by Ta for 2ndplace and Te 3rd. For the English contest, D won 1st place,
followed by Ai 2nd and R 3rd. At the Area 26 Contest on 1 March (the immediate
next level after the club contest), two members from each language section can
compete for the Japanese and English sessions. Many TRTMC members are ready
to cheer them on. We are looking forward to this.
東京レインボーTMC、いつもの例会も楽しいですが、このような特別な行事もあって、飽きることがありません。今回の例会には、7人ものゲストが見学に訪れ、うち1名が入会を決めました。また、2月29日（土）には、メンバーでいちご狩りに行こう、という特別企画も発表されました。自分らしくいられるコミュニティ。居心地の良い場所ができています。
At the Tokyo Rainbow TMC, we have no chance to get bored - thanks to this kind
of special event - on top of our regular meetings. Today, as many as 7 guests showed up,
of which one person decided to become a member. Moreover, a special event
was announced on Sat 29 February - a strawberry picking excursion. A comfortable
community is here where you can be yourselves.
