東京の新型コロナウィルス感染者数がどんどん多くなってきた今頃ですが、第88回の例会はオンラインで開催できました。15名のメンバーと5名のゲストが参加して頂き、とてもありがとうございました。
長い間の自粛生活に疲れて「絶望」を感じているメンバーもいるかもしれませんが、「絶望から希望を」というテーマになりました。初めてのオンラインミーティングから既に4,5ヶ月を経て、参加者の皆様はだいぶオンラインミーティングに慣れてきました。ファイルの共有や、例会の進行状況等をリアルタイムでZoomのチャート欄に発信したり、バーチャル背景でスピーカーの邪魔にならずに情報を発信したりすることが印象的でした。そして、物理距離を無視し、遠いところからゲストをお迎えすることもでき、より一層にクラブ例会のダイバーシティを高めることができました。こういった工夫や変化が、まさに絶望な窮地から希望をもたらしてきたと言えるでしょう。
5分間LGBTQ講座は２つ実施されました。元会員のKさんがLGBTQ当事者のホームレスの現状や救済活動について語って頂きました。ゲストのDさんはアメリカから所属している「Global Pride Toastmasters」クラブを紹介して頂きました。テーブルトピックスでは、マスターのUさんがタイムリーな話題である「旅」にめぐって深堀りしてきました。準備スピーチでは、Cさんが癒しのにゃんこ動画をたくさん披露して頂き、Kさんが再入会後のアイスブレイクとして近況報告を頂きました。

The number of people infected with the new coronavirus in Tokyo is now increasing, but the 88th regular meeting was held online. Thank you for joining, 15 members and 5 guests.
While some members may be tired of their self-restraint for a long time and feel “despair”, the theme of this meeting was “From despair comes hope”. It's been four and five months since the first online meeting, and all the participants have become accustomed to online meetings. It was impressive to share the file and the progress of the meeting in real-time to the zoom chart column, and send the information in the virtual background without disturbing the speaker. It becomes to be able to welcome guests from afar, which further enhancing the diversity of club meetings. It seems that such ingenuity and changes have brought hope out of despair.
Two 5-minute LGBTQ courses were held. Mr. K, a former member, talked about the current situation of homeless LGBTQ people and the relief activities. As a guest, Mr.D introduced his club "Global Pride Toastmasters" from the United States. At Table Topics, Master U-san went deep into the topic of travel, a timely topic. In the prepared speeches, Ms. C showed a lot of healing cat videos, and Mr. K had a recent report as an ice break after re-enrollment. It was a fruitful meeting that brings HOPE to everyone.
