87th meeting

第87回東京レインボートーストマスターズの例会にご参加いただいた皆様、ありがとうございました。コロナウイルスとの 「ニューノーマル」に適応して、TRTMCはオンラインでのミーティングを続けています。無意識と思いますが、今回のミーティングのテーマは 「A Call to Action」と自然に出てきました。準備スピーチも、今夜の言葉、テーブルトピックスも、どれも、メンバーの日常生活の中で行動を呼び起こし、鼓舞することに関係していました。
5分間のLGBTQスピーチでは、ストーンウォールと、LGBTQコミュニティに蔓延する「civil disobedience」の歴史について話しました。この「civil disobedience」は、今も続いていると思います。準備スピーチは、良いリーダーとは何か、ポジティブシンキングの力、そして人生を変える力についてでした。今日はアメリカの独立記念日ということで、テーブルトピックスマスターは、「独立」のテーマで、何か、そしてメンバーの生活の中で独立を維持し、維持していく上での課題について考えるように促してくれました。
続いて、2019年-2020年下半期のTRTMCメンバーを表彰する「下半期表彰」を行いました。会員の皆様のおかげで、2020年の次の半期がとても楽しみです。
メンバー12名、ゲスト2名の参加がありました。ゲストの一人はロサンゼルスから参加してくれましたが、テクノロジーがいかに国境を越えて私たちを繋いでいるかを本当に証明してくれました。ご参加いただいた皆様、本当にありがとうございました。
次回のミーティングも楽しみにしています～！
Thank you everyone who participated in the 87th meeting of Tokyo Rainbow Toastmasters. Adjusting to the “new normal” of life with the coronavirus, the TRTMC is continuing to meet online. Though unintentional, the emergent theme of this meeting was “A Call to Action.” Our speakers’ topics, the Word of the Evening, and our Table Topics all had something to do with calling and inspiring our members to action in their everyday lives.
Our 5-minute LGBTQ lecture was about the Stonewall Riots and the LGBTQ community’s pervasive history of “civil disobedience.” It is a tradition I believe we continue even today. Our prepared speeches were on what a good leader is, and the power of positive thinking—and its ability to change your life. As July 4th is Independence Day in the U.S., our Table Topics Master encouraged us to think on what “independence” is and our challenges in maintaining and sustaining independence in our lives.
We then had our “second half awards” ceremony in which we gave out awards to TRTMC members for the second half of 2019-2020. We’re so proud of all of our members, and we’re looking forward to the next half of 2020.
We had 12 members in attendance and 2 guests. One of our guests participated from Los Angeles, which truly proves to us how much technology is connecting us across borders. Thank you again to everyone who participated!
