112nd meeting

皆さん、暑いですね。今回のミーティングは、2021年8月7日、夏の東京の暑さの中で行われました。
ありがたいことに、皆さん自宅で涼を取りながらのオンラインミーティングとなりました。
定刻通り18:00に開始したミーティングでは、Yさんは初めてのTMOEでしたが、堂々とした話しぶりで、スピーチ、論評、入会式など盛りだくさんのアジェンダを立派にこなしていました。
オンライン・ミーティングの素晴らしい点は、画面を共有できることです。タイムキーパー、テーブルトピックマスター、投票(ボウト・カウンター)も、画面を共有して、正確な時間を計測したり、オンラインセッションでの投票方法を示したりしました。これは、今後のオンライン・ミーティングにぜひ取り入れたいことです。
Uさんは、ユニークなメンターについて面白い・楽しいスピーチをしました。Uさんはいつもユーモアがあって、場が和みます、真面目な顔で話すときは、特に。
Aさんのスピーチから、会話の「ピンポン・ルール」を学びました。ピンポンゲームのように、一方的な会話ではなく、効果的な会話とみなされるためには、二人ともがそれぞれ40～60％の間で話す必要があるというものです。今後の自分がする会話にも参考になりますね。
Kさんは、過去の恋愛から学んだ多くのことをスピーチにしました。
テーブル・トピックのセッションは、旅行についてでした。今の日本の状況では、海外旅行は簡単ではないし、できない人もいるでしょう。皆さんが行きたい場所、旅のパートナー、食べたいものなどを聞くことができて良かったです。
全体的に、ミーティングはエキサイティングで、多くのメンバーが参加し、Hさんを新しいメンバーとして迎え入れました。ようこそ！楽しんでくださいね。

It’s hot, everyone! Today’s
meeting was held on August 7th, 2021, in the heat of Tokyo summer.
Thankfully, everyone was keeping
cool in their own homes as we held an online meeting.
The meeting started promptly at
18:00 and though it was our TMOE, Y-san’s first time, she spoke with confidence
and fearlessly led us through an agenda jam-packed with speeches, evaluation
and an induction ceremony.
One of great things about online
meetings is that we can share our screens. Our Timekeeper, Table Topics Master
and Vote Counter shared their screens to show the exact times they were
measuring as well as how to vote on our online session. This is something we’d
love to have in future online meetings!
U-san gave a funny speech about
their unusual mentor—their humor always lights the room up, especially when
they speak with a straight face. We learned from A-san’s speech the “ping-pong”
rule of conversation -- which, like in a game of ping-pong, you should be
speaking somewhere between 40~60% for it to be considered an effective and not
one-sided conversation. A good thing to consider in your own conversations.
K-san gave a speech about the many things they learned from past relationships.
Our Table Topics session was about
travel. In this current situation in Japan, travel outside the country isn’t
easy or for some, is impossible. It was excellent to hear everyone’s places
they want to go, travel partners they have had, and food they have eaten.
Overall, the meeting was exciting,
many members attended and we would like to welcome H-san as a new member into
our club. Welcome, and we hope you enjoy!
