117th meeting

COVID-19の緊急事態宣言もあけ、街中にも少しずつですが活気が戻ってきたように感じる今日この頃。そのせいもあってか（？）今回の例会は9名とちょっと寂しい参加人数…。3名のゲストも入れて、合計12名で行われました。
例会の参加人数が少ないと、どうしても役割のダブルロール、トリプルロールが避けられません。今回も、Taさんが計時係と準備スピーチを、Kさんがえーとカウンターと文法係を、Lさんが今週のレインボーな時間と論評を、そしてGさんがテーブルトピックスマスターと総合論評をそれぞれ務めてくれました。その中でも、今夜のTMOEを務めてくれたUさんは、なんと役割が4つも！TMOE、今夜の言葉、集計係、そして5分間LGBTQ+講義…という八面六臂の大活躍でした。みなさんお疲れさまでした！！
今夜の準備スピーチは3名。Taさんは中学生時代の担任の先生との交換日記をもとにした、心温まるエピソードを、Tiさんは言葉の持つ力についての熱のこもったスピーチを、そしてAさんは物事を三日坊主で終わらせないためのちょっとしたコツを紹介してくれました。
続くテーブルトピックススピーチのセッション。テーブルトピックスマスターはGさんです。今回は「○○の秋」というテーマにそってお題が出されました。
「食欲の秋、あなたがシェフとしてGさんに秋のスペシャリテを出すとしたら？」というお題をTaさんが、「スポーツの秋、あなたが経験もないのに曲者ぞろいのスポーツチームの監督をすることになったら？」というお題をAさんが、「紅葉の秋、思わず赤面してしまったようなやらかしエピソードは？」というお題をゲストのNさんが、そして「旅行の秋、もしタイムマシーンが手に入ったらどうする？」というお題を、おなじくゲストのOさんがそれぞれ回答しました。
どんなに素晴らしいスピーチでも、言いっ放しではなかなか上達しませんよね。ということで、フィードバックの時間、論評セッションです。今回は3名のスピーカーに対してそれぞれYuさん、Lさん、Yoさんが論評をしました。
久しぶりの論評だったYuさん、緊張していた、とのことですがそんなそぶりを微塵も感じさせないさすがの細やかなフィードバックでした。理知的な考察が光るLさんは今回もしっかりとTiさんのスピーチに対して改善点を伝えていました。そしてYoさんはAさんのスピーチのトピック選びにも言及する素晴らしい視点を見せてくれました。
例会最後のセッションは総合論評、例会の総括と論評の論評が主な役割です。今回の総合論評はGさん。タイムマネジメントがしっかりとできていた例会だった一方で、Zoomのミュート・アンミュートの声かけをもっと丁寧にするとわかりやすいのでは…という提案がありました。
それぞれの役割で忙しかった例会も一段落し、いよいよお待ちかねのベスト賞表彰の時間です。
ベストテーブルトピックス賞はAさんが、ベスト論評賞はLさんとYoさんの2人が、そしてベストスピーカー賞はTaさんが、それぞれ受賞しました。おめでとうございます！！
東京レインボートーストマスターズクラブは“LGBTQ+とAllyのためのスピーチクラブ”です。
毎月第1、第3土曜日の18時～20時に例会を行っていて、セクシュアリティや年齢、国籍などさまざまなメンバーが集まっています。一般の話し方教室などとは違って先生はおらず、それぞれの役割を務める中で自然とスピーチスキルやリーダーシップスキルが身についていきます。

Now that the state of emergency declared by COVID-19 has passed, the city seems to be slowly coming back to life. Perhaps it was because of this? The number of participants in this meeting was a bit small (9 people), but with the addition of 3 guests, we had 12 people in total.
When the number of participants in a regular meeting is small, double or triple roles are inevitable. This time, too, Ta-san was the timekeeper and preparatory speaker, K-san was the uh counter and grammarian, L-san was this week's rainbow hour and commentator, and G-san was the table topics master and general commentator. U-san, tonight's TMOE, had four roles: TMOE, word of the night, tally, and a five-minute LGBTQ+ lecture. Thank you all for your hard work!
Tonight we had three preparatory speeches: Ta-san gave a heartwarming episode based on their exchange diary with their homeroom teacher when they were in junior high school, Ti-san gave an impassioned speech about the power of words, and A-san gave a little tip on how not to let things go on for three days.
The next session was the Table Topics speech. The Table Topics Master was G-san. This time, the topic was "Autumn of ____".
"Ta-san asked, "If you were a chef, what would you offer G-san as an autumn specialty? Ta-san asked, "In the autumn of sports, what would you do if you were to coach a sports team full of crooks without any experience? and "In the autumn when the leaves change color, what is the episode that made you blush? and "What would you do if you had a time machine? and "What would you do if you could have a time machine in the fall?
No matter how good your speech is, you can't improve it if you just speak it, can you? So, it was time for feedback and a review session. This time, Yu, L, and Yo gave their comments on the three speakers.
Yu-san, who hadn't given a review in a long time, said they were nervous, but they didn't show any sign of it, and their feedback was very detailed. L-san, with their intelligent thinking, was able to make improvements to Ti-san's speech. In addition, Yo showed us a wonderful point of view on the choice of topic for A's speech.
The last session of the meeting was the general discussion, where the main role was to summarize the meeting and discuss the discussion. The last session of the regular meeting was the general commentary. While the meeting was well organized with good time management, they suggested that it would be easier to understand if the Zoom mute and unmute were called out more carefully....
After the busy meeting, it was time for the long-awaited Best Award presentation.
The Best Table Topics Award went to A-san, the Best Commentary Award went to L-san and Yo-san, and the Best Speaker Award went to Ta-san. Congratulations!
The Tokyo Rainbow Toastmasters Club is a "speech club for LGBTQ+ and Ally".
The club meets on the first and third Saturday of every month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and has members of various sexualities, ages, and nationalities. Unlike other speaking classes, there is no teacher, and members naturally acquire speech and leadership skills as they take on their respective roles.
