6月と言えば、プライド月間（Pride
Month）！1969年6月ニューヨークのゲイバー（ストーンウォール・イン）で発生したストーンウォールの反乱をきっかけに性的少数者の解放運動がアメリカだけではなく、全世界に広がってきました．この事件を記念し、今のプライド月間が生まれたそうです．ベテラン会員のＧさんは、会場入り口にあった「プライド月間」の会場施設の掲示物を写真に撮ってみんなに共有してくれました。(写真↑)
今回の例会はハイブリッドで、6人がオンラインで、5人が会場で、さらにゲストが3人、会場での参加でした。
Yさんは、プライド月間に相応しい「ゴージャスな」を今夜の言葉として選んでくれました。
準備スピーチ1人目はFさん。最近入会したばかりなのでスピーチ２回目で、仕事での気付きとセクマイとしての気付きをテーマに話しました。
準備スピーチ2人目は、Tさん。社会での価値観と二丁目の価値観の違い、名前を出すことについての考え方、など、この会全体にも大きな問題を投げかけてくれました。
準備スピーチ3人目は、TKさん。スピーチの題名が秀逸でした。会社での仕事とプライベートですること、について引き受ける態度やコミュニケーションなどについて話しました。
テーブルトピックスマスターのAさんは、テレビ番組「ドンブラザーズ桃太郎」の「毎回見ても全く理解できない世界観」から、面白く哲学的示唆に富んだ主人公が使う言葉をトピックにしました。会場で、何度も爆笑が起こりました。
そして、LGBTQ+やプライドについて、過去の一週間に発生したレインボーモーメントをシェアしあった会員達。
しっかりと準備して日英両方で例会全体の進行をコントロールした総合司会(TMOE)のYKさんをはじめ、今回もみんなで例会を実現させました．盛りだくさんの内容で参加者全員が元気と力を受け取れたかと思います！
総合論評(GE)は、私は、初めて担当しました。私は新型コロナが日本で確認された2020年の春に入会したので、今回が初めての会場参加でした。論評セッションの手順を紙に書き出していたのですが、間違えて余計なものも書いていて、Gさんが小声で「それはいらないよ」とサポートしてくれました。こういう失敗にも慣れてきて、失敗しても落ち込まず、どう進めるかと気持ちを集中されることにも慣れてきたことを実感しました。未経験の様々なことを「ハードルの高くない、安心して失敗できる場所」で、回を重ねるうちに徐々にできるようになっていくことができるのが、このTMCの良い所だと思います。仕事でするのだと、失敗した時のことが怖いし、恥ずかしいですが、ここでは、間違えてしまったことを叱る人はいません。笑いも嘲笑ではないのがはっきりしているので、間違えても嫌ではありません。このクラブは、自分の生活範囲・行動パターンでは得られない情報を得られたり、人から刺激を受けたり、英語の新しい単語を覚えて英語話者会員と話すのに使ってみたり、分析力・観察力を学べることができて、入会時には思いつかなかった数多くの魅力が詰まった集まりだなあと、改めて感じました。

June is Pride Month! The Stonewall Riots that took place at a gay bar (Stonewall Inn) in New York City in June 1969 triggered a movement for the liberation of sexual minorities that spread not only in the United States but also throughout the world. The current Pride Month was born to commemorate this incident. A veteran member G took a picture of the Pride Month facility posting at the venue's entrance and shared it with everyone. (see the photo above)
This meeting was a hybrid, with six people online, five at the venue, and three additional guests at the venue.
Y chose "gorgeous" as the word
of the night, appropriate for Pride Month.
The first prepared speech was by F. As a
recent member, they spoke about their realizations at work and their realizations
as a queer.
The second preparatory speech was by T. They
raised some major issues for this TR TMC as well, such as the difference
between the values in society and the values in Nichome, and their thoughts on revealing
one’s name.
The third preparatory speech was given
by TK. The title of their speech was excellent. They talked about their attitude toward undertaking and communication
about what they does at work and in their private life.
A, the table topic master, chose a topic
from the TV program "Don Brothers Momotaro", "a worldview that I
don't understand at all even though I watch it every time.” A used words quoted by the main character that
was funny and philosophically suggestive. The audience laughed out loud
several times.
Members shared their own “Rainbow Moments” that occurred during the past week about LGBTQ+ and Pride.
Everyone made the meeting happen again,
including YK from TMOE, who prepared well and controlled the entire meeting in
both Japanese and English. I hope all the participants received energy and
strength from the many contents of the meeting!
It was my first time serving as a GE, general evaluator. I joined this club after the pandemic started two years ago in 2020, so this was my first time to participate in the venue. I had written out the steps of the evaluation session on a piece of paper, but I made a mistake and wrote some extra stuff, and G supported me by whispering, "You don't need that. I realized that I was getting used to these kinds of mistakes and that I was getting used to being able to focus my mind on how to proceed and not get depressed when I made a mistake. I think the good thing about this club is that it is a place where you can do various things you have no experience in, "where the hurdles are not too high and you can fail without worry," and gradually learn to do them as you go through the process. If you do it for work, it is scary and embarrassing to make mistakes, but here, no one scolds you for making mistakes. I don't mind making mistakes because it is clear that the laughter is not mockery either. TRTMC is a place where you can get information that you cannot get in your own sphere of life and activity pattern. I was reminded once again that TRTMC is a gathering filled with numerous attractions that I had not thought of when I joined, such as gaining information, being stimulated by others, learning new words in English, and using them to talk with English-speaking members, and learning analyzing and observation skills.
