ENGLISH REPORT
On Saturday, June 18th, we held our 132nd Tokyo Rainbow Toastmasters club meeting online, over Zoom, in the midst of the Japanese rainy season. Joining from the Southern Hemisphere, our GE, D-san, was also enjoying a rainy season!
At our meeting, we were joined by two guests for the second time, E-san and Kj-san.
An important annual ceremony was held at this meeting: the installation of the new year’s Club Officers! Our incumbent President, Tk-san, led the installation ceremony for the new Club Officers, and the members got to hear from the incoming Club President, L-san, about the new year’s club goal: to strengthen connection and engagement and to “add a small plus to your life.”
We are all looking forward to supporting our new Club Officers in their leadership roles!
The role of TMOE at this meeting was conducted by Tk-san, who welcomed everyone by providing instructions in both Japanese and English.
K-san provided our word of the evening, “Sokaina” or “Exhilarating”, which was an appropriate choice based on everyone’s wishes about the current weather in Japan ☀️
Helping with roles this evening were S-san, as the Timer; Ts-san, as the Ah-Counter and Grammarian; and U-san, as the Vote Counter.
U-san also led our Club’s unique “Rainbow Moment of the Week” session, and K-san helped out by providing real-time translations of the member’s anecdotes in the chat box.
We had a rare evening of two English prepared speeches.
A-san delivered the first speech and Tk-san delivered the second speech. Both of the speeches shared a message of authenticity and a journey to success; it was powerful and heartwarming.
For our TableTopics section, we were led by Y-san, with the topic chosen about the “Rainy Season,” so everyone could relate to the subject easily. Our speakers each had a lot to talk about with questions ranging from making plans to choosing umbrellas!
Finally, it was the time for the Evaluation Session of the meeting, which was led by GE, D-san. The two Evaluators of the Prepared Speeches were Tf-san and L-san, who both shared valuable and constructive feedback to our Prepared Speakers to enhance their speeches. L-san taught us all about the importance of using an “emotional curve” in a speech. Tf-san shared some advice from a vocal coach.
Overall, the meeting was a great success and our guests provided positive comments after the meeting.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back at the next meeting! 🌈
JAPANESE REPORT
6月18日（土）、梅雨の晴れ間の中、第132回東京レインボートーストクラブ例会をZoomでオンライン開催しました。南半球から参加のGE、Dさんも梅雨を満喫していましたね。
今回の例会には、2回目のゲストとして、EさんとKjさんが参加されました。
今回の例会では、新年度のクラブ役員の任命式も行われました。現会長のTkさんが新役員の任命式を行い、次期会長のLさんから新年度のクラブ目標である「つながりと関わりを強め、"あなたの人生に小さなプラスを"」について話を聞くことが出来ました。

今回のTMOEは、Tkさんが担当し、日本語と英語で説明し、皆さんをお迎えしました。
Kさんからは、「爽快な」という言葉が出ました。
今晩は、タイマーのSさん、あカウンターと文法担当のTsさん、そして投票カウンターのUさんにお手伝いいただきました。
また、Uさんは当クラブ独自の「今週のレインボーモーメント」を担当し、Kさんはチャットボックスでメンバーの逸話をリアルタイムで翻訳してくれるというサービスもありました。
この日は珍しく、英語のスピーチを2つ用意しました。
1回目はAさん、2回目はTkさんです。どちらも「本物」「成功への道程」というメッセージで、力強く、心温まるスピーチでした。
TableTopicsのコーナーでは、Yさんのリードで、みんなが共感しやすい「梅雨」の話題を選びました。計画から傘の選び方まで、それぞれのスピーカーがたくさんのことを話してくれました。
そしていよいよ、GE・Dさんの進行による「評価会」の時間です。Prepared SpeechのEvaluatorはTfさんとLさんのお二人で、Prepared Speakerがより良いスピーチをするために貴重で建設的なフィードバックをいただきました。Lさんは、スピーチの中で「感情曲線」を使うことの重要性を教えてくれました。Tfさんは、ボーカルコーチからのアドバイスをいただきました。
全体として、このミーティングは大成功で、お客様からも好評をいただきました。
次回も皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。🌈
